Here’s a fast review: People who are unsuccessful don’t finish what they start. They develop habits that are bad for their integrity, which then erodes trust and confidence.
Yet, even when you follow all the six rules of Secret #3 in obtaining a goal, there’s this nasty voice that you’ll hear on the way to success: the voice of procrastination.
Secret #4: How To Conquer Procrastination Regardless What Your Mood Is
Procrastination happens when you say you’re going to do something and your habitual mind takes you out of the game.
“I don’t feel like it.”
“I’m not in the mood.”
“Maybe later.”
Where do these thoughts come from? Generally, they’re based on some type of fear… or maybe you’re just being plain old lazy.
There’s nothing wrong with relaxation after you’ve worked hard, doing something enjoyable, or just “vegging out”. But when “vegetation” turns into procrastination and costs you your success, there’s something very wrong. Then you’re setting the stage for a bad habit … or more.
So, what do you do when you find that you’re really not in the mood and you’re procrastinating like crazy?
TAKE ACTION.
Do something, no matter how small, toward finishing what you were going to do. Got a project? Outline it. Think. Write things down. Eventually your mind will focus on what you need to do and not the thought that you “don’t feel like it”.
Remember, the habits you develop set the stage for future success … and failure.
